GUNMA AGRICULTURAL TECHNOLOGY CENTER

Outline
This is a project to consolidate the center, which was scattered throughout the prefecture. A roof covering the entire building was proposed so that laboratories and other facilities could be planned freely. A maximum of six beams made of Japanese cedar with a cross section of 90 x 75 mm and a length of 4 m were connected to form a single beam. In order to secure the surface rigidity, the upper and lower chord beams are arranged in a grid pattern. The beams were supported by wooden beam supports on the girders and pulled by tensioning bolts to cover the maximum span of 23m.
