Yamazakiya
Tadashi Yoshimura Architects
- Outline
- Built along the Tosa Kaido Road. A building constructed at the end of the Edo period during the Ansei era was renovated into a house for a family of five who made a U-turn from the city. Yamazakiya" is the name of a drapery shop that operated here in the Taisho era. In order to improve earthquake resistance, a series of through walls made of 120 mm square cypress wood in the shape of a torii were placed in four locations, overlapping each other in the beam-to-beam direction.
