Renovation of House in Inari
Akito Machi Architects
- Outline
- A house that had been lived in by the designer's grandparents was renovated into the designer's own residence. The goal was to maximize the individuality of each of the residents, regardless of whether they were old or new, and ultimately to create a state of harmony by blending them all together. First, the building was considered as a composition of surfaces, and each surface was prepared, and then the entire building was renovated by balancing the individual surfaces. The garden was also considered as a part of the renovation, and the indoor environment on the second floor was improved by carefully pruning it.
