House in Kitakogane

Outline: The site is located on a corner lot at the bottom of a gentle north slope in a daisy-shaped residential development. The roof surface is optimized for winter sunlight in order to supplement the direct gain of the solar system, which is difficult to obtain in the first floor rooms open to the north. The rectangular volume is placed in a horizontal position in relation to the site, and the part of the volume that emerges from the site is cut with a line parallel to the site boundary to form a windowless wall. On the uncut side, there is an opening, and the end of the opening is a triangular terrace.　|The terrace is triangular in plan.
