House with Bamboo Forest

Outline
This is the designer's own residence on a land where 2/3 of the site is a cliff of bamboo forest. The house was designed to be cool even in summer by utilizing the radiant cooling effect of the bamboo forest. The cliff and the building are connected by a balcony, and the balcony is used as an extension of the interior for various purposes such as eating, doing laundry, and reading. The cliff of the bamboo forest blocks the view from the surrounding area, and it becomes a private space as if enclosed even though it is outside.
