House in Newtown

Outline
The building is located in a new residential area on a sloping site developed in the form of a hill. In order not to interrupt the connection between the town and the residences due to the difference in elevation of the base, the floor is set 1,000 mm above the base. On the façade, a retaining wall is built up to the height of the original foundation, and the entire surface is opened up to create a residence that is open to the city while maintaining continuity with the surrounding townscape.
