Junji Kawashima Residence, Art Room, The Black Helmet of Kamakura

A painting room and living space for a Japanese painter. It has a square plane of about 8.6m square with a black square roof. Considering the transportation of large works, it was a natural decision to put the painting room on the first floor. The living space on the second floor is a circular plan with almost no partitions.
