Restoration of Notre Dame Cathedral

Outline
The wooden steeple and roof were destroyed by fire on April 15, 2019, and part of the stone vault also collapsed. After the fire, there was news of a design competition for a new spire, but in the end, work was carried out to faithfully restore the building to its pre-fire state. In addition to utilizing 3D scan data from before the fire, the same technology was used to measure the distortion of the curved surfaces of the vault and arches, a method that can be called the "digital twin" of restoration work.
