- The fountain was installed in Hyde Park in London to honor the life of Diana, Princess of Wales, who died in 1997. The fountain is a ring-shaped fountain along the topography sloping down to Serpentine Lake, where people can gather and sit. The waterway was designed using the latest digital technology based on Gustafson's clay model of the ring (see montage of the model on the left). 545 granite elements from Cornwall were used to create the complex textures and patterns on the surface, which give expression to the movement of the flowing water.
