- The entrance is located in an existing building built in 1735, with access to the exhibition area in the basement extension. Libeskind named the building "Between the Lines" and plotted the addresses of Jewish and non-Jewish cultural figures in Berlin on a map, symbolizing the Jewish-German connection, and developed the structure and openings based on the network of lines that emerged. The work also draws inspiration for its morphological manipulations from several works related to Jewish culture.
