Ume Town Hall

Outline
A 24-year-old forestry training facility with a low utilization rate was converted into a town hall in order to make effective use of the town's stock. All the interior and exterior and equipment were removed to reduce the weight of the building, and a steel brace and an entrance hall as an extension were added to the existing ramen frame. This renovation was an opportunity for designers to revitalize existing buildings from various aspects such as design, structure, equipment, regulations, and real estate value, which they call "refinishing" (later "refinancing").
