- The subway was designed based on the concept of "a subway as an urban infrastructure, like a plant that grows underground. The "web frame," a green framework that runs along the staircase and serves as lighting and ceiling, and the ventilation tower that serves as the facade of the building were created by setting the rules on a computer program and then allowing them to "grow" as they pleased. This architecture applies the "guided city" concept proposed by Makoto Watanabe as a design method.
