Makino Museum of Plants and People
Hiroshi Naito
- Outline
- The two buildings, each with rooms surrounding a courtyard, are connected by a 170-meter corridor along the ridge of Mount Godaisan in Kochi. To ensure continuity with the surrounding nature and to withstand wind loads caused by typhoons, the entire building is constructed of laminated cedar from Kochi Prefecture, with RC and steel girder beams and keel beams placed around the perimeter.
