Grassland Stockbreeding Research Institute
Tom Heneghan
- Outline
- Eleven buildings with black shingle or steel plate roofs and white fair-faced concrete walls are scattered in the grassland of Aso. The monochrome contrast of materials is in harmony with the green landscape, and the deep roof slopes help to reduce the accumulation of volcanic ash and to provide ventilation. The wooden structures are exposed, bringing a rustic warmth to the interior spaces.
