Signal Box Auf dem Wolf
Herzog & de Meuron
- Outline
- This is a railroad signal facility with 20cm wide twisted copper plate louvers rotating in places around the four perimeters of a concrete frame. The louvers are placed around the four perimeters of the concrete structure to create a facade that changes with the position of the observer and the time of day. The copper plates were placed to protect the electronic equipment inside. This is one of the designer's early representative works.
