Tokyo Institute of Technology Centennial Hall

Outline
In front of Ookayama Station, a silvery-gray refracted half-cylinder leaps out from a rigid mass. This heterogeneous junction fragments the space and emphasizes its arbitrariness without daring to create a logic to unify them. Black cylindrical dumbwaiters and meandering steel staircases stick to the building as if to facilitate the movement of generation. Shinohara's theme was "the active force of a machine that contains chaos," and he moved on to the fourth style.
