Naruto Municipal Cultural Hall

Outline
This is Masuda's last work, in which he pursued the representation of Japanese-style space with concrete. It embodies the speculation of "ontological architectural theory" and creates a landscape of Japanese ethnos in a former salt field along the Natsuyogawa River. The characteristic louvers give a strict impression on the outside, while inside, they give a hint of lightness that symbolizes "semi-isolation".
