- Based on the concept of a "closed box," this house consists of a large box that contains smaller boxes that have their own functions, such as a study and bedroom. Sakamoto, a graduate of Kazuo Shinohara's laboratory, avoided a clear division of the house, as in the "White House," and instead created an organic relationship between the small boxes by having the common-area staircase and cross corridors relate to each other. The rough "unfinished" finish and the displacement from the rectangular shape caused by the tracing of the site's outline in the context of the town create an oscillation not seen in "House in Scattera" (1969).
