Letchworth Garden City

Outline
The overcrowding of workers and pollution caused by the Industrial Revolution were worsening the living environment in urban London. In response to these housing problems, Howard envisioned a utopia called "The Rural City. It is a small, self-sufficient city that is a "marriage" between a large city and a rural community. It was first realized in Letchworth, near London. Its construction provided the basic framework for city planning in the 20th century, even if it was not necessarily a perfect idea.
