Outline: This is a project to develop facilities in front of the station adjacent to Ashiharaonsen Station, which will become the northern gateway to Fukui Prefecture with the extension of the Hokuriku Shinkansen Line. While utilizing the abundant timber produced in the city, a plaza was created to serve as a gateway to the station, with functions of waiting area, interaction, information dissemination, tourist information, food and beverage, and merchandise sales. In consideration of the winter weather in Fukui Prefecture, a glass screen was installed to prevent rain and snow from blowing in, while allowing the bustle of the interior to spread to the exterior.
