KUDAN-KAIKAN TERRACE

The "former kudan kaikan" was completed in 1934 as a military hall by ryoichi kawamoto (execution design) and chuta ito (supervision), and later used as a theater and lodging facility. the building is characterized by a design that combines the imperial crown style and art deco. the building and grounds were registered as a tangible cultural property on the occasion of its reuse. part of the building was restored and preserved, and the demolished portion was replaced by a new 17-story building with three basement levels, which houses offices and a clinic.
