- A welfare facility for the elderly built on a site with a thatched main house, a row-house gate, and a detached house, all over 100 years old, facing an old highway and surrounded by a residential forest next to a shrine. the main building was renovated to provide day services, and a private-pay home for the elderly with a clinic was built in the forest. of the more than 150-year-old forest trees on the site, the zelkova and oak were left as much as possible, while the cedar and cypress were cut down and used for construction. the wood was mainly used for the nursing home building. about 17% of the wood used for the nursing home building came from logging on the site.
