HIRONOMACHI-KINDERGARTEN

Outline
A certified children's school in Hirono Town, Fukushima Prefecture. The existing nursery school and kindergarten were integrated into a single children's school. As a symbol of reconstruction after the Great East Japan Earthquake, it was planned as a part of the concept of consolidating educational facilities from nursery school to high school on a hill in the town. The building is arranged in a U-shape, with the south wing containing the rooms for 0-2 year olds and the north wing containing the rooms for 3-5 year olds visible from the staff room in the center. Through the glass of the entrance hall, we can see the ocean from the school garden.
