FARM STAND IN HIGASHIMATSUYAMA

Outline
This project involved the relocation and reconstruction of a direct sales center for agricultural products directly operated by an agricultural cooperative in central Saitama Prefecture. In rebuilding the building, functions such as a food court and a plaza were added, and the building was required to play a role as a complex facility where citizens can interact. The three large roofs, which play a landmark role, are constructed with a truss structure. On the west side of the site is the front road and the Tobu Tojo Line, surrounded by farmland. The distant view to the south is of the bed of the Miyakugawa River, which runs east to west. In the foreground of the site, rows of trees are planted for windbreaks.
