SATOUMI STATION

Outline
This is a project to reconstruct a gas station damaged by the tsunami of the Great East Japan Earthquake. It was necessary to complete the construction work as soon as possible and to ensure the strength of the building against tsunami because it is located in a tsunami hazard area along the sea. Takahashi Kogyo, which was in charge of the construction, used its steel technology to build a steel structure with a single plate arch. A minimum number of tension rods were placed on the ceiling to withstand compression.
