OMORI LODGE
YOSHIHIKO OSHIMA/BLUESTUDIO, + MIKI AMANO/ATELIER E03
- Outline
- Renovation of seven wooden row houses and the owner's main house, totaling eight buildings on a 909m2 site. The buildings are about 50 years old and were built sequentially around 1955 to 1965. In order to proceed with the renovation in agreement with the residents without forcible eviction negotiations, the construction of each building was carried out in stages from the first to the fifth phase. Although the renovations were limited to those that did not require a building permit, efforts were made to ensure the safety of the residents by reinforcing the foundations, earthquake-resistant walls, and bracing, reinforcing the insulation with glass wool, and replacing the clapboards with fireproof siding when the exterior walls were renewed.
