JOGANJI TEMPLE

Outline
This temple consists of a main hall, a gomado, and a guest hall. The roofs are not warped as in conventional temples, but rather have a "mukuri" shape, and the roof tiles and eaves of each of the three buildings are different in accordance with their characteristics. The main hall is a light structure of steel flat bars, which is seismically isolated. The exterior walls are made of glass, and the corridor is separated from the inner and outer sanctuaries by shoji screens. In the outer sanctuary, tatami mats are eliminated and the space is designed for seating.
