YOKOHAMA NATIONAL UNIVERSITY NATURAL SCIENCE RESEARCH BUILDING Ⅱ IMPROVEMENT

Outline
This project was undertaken in conjunction with the seismic retrofit of the architecture building at Yokohama National University. A green wall (planting) with a mixture of ivy and vines is applied to the exterior walls to adjust the environment. In the seismic retrofit, structurally unnecessary walls were removed as much as possible, and concrete was added where necessary. This project will be continued as a campus strategy, such as the earthquake-resistant renovation of the Faculty of Education and Human Sciences (design supervision: Taketo Shimofukigoe and Mikio Tai). Mr. Hisashi Kitayama, Mr. Yoshihiko Iida and Mr. Takenori Miura of Yokohama National University participated in this project.
