House in Sequences

Outline
The house stands atop a cliff in a hilly area with a panoramic view. The site features a spacious layout where a daimyo’s residence once stood, but as the surrounding area has undergone extensive land subdivision and now contains a mix of large and small homes, the design incorporates terraced levels that follow the natural topography and uses segmented roofing to harmonize with the scale of the neighboring residences. Inside, the four spaces—divided according to daily activities—are arranged along a north-south axis, with some projecting outward and others overlapping to create a segmented layout.
