House in Kamiyasu
Yutaka Yoshida Architect & Associates
- Outline
- The building stands on an irregularly shaped lot in a densely populated residential area. By designing the west-facing floor plan as a single-room unit that steps back along the property line, the boundary is gently segmented while creating diagonal depth. An opening spanning both floors is provided on the north side of the staggered wall, bringing natural light and views of the mountains to the north into the interior. Ceiling heights range from 1,054 to 3,454 mm, and the continuous folded roof creates variations in height throughout the space.
