NESTING Naoshima

Outline
The "NESTING" series of houses are assembled by machining components using the "ShopBot," a CNC machining center installed throughout Japan. This house is a self-built version of "Unit 1," which was constructed by the builder himself. With the goal of allowing a couple to build the house together, the walls and ceilings were factory-assembled into units and assembled on site to save labor and improve efficiency. The foundation will be poured with single pipe instead of concrete. Solar panels and eco-cute units will be installed to make the house self-sufficient in energy.
