- A residence for the designer and his family. the front side of the site faces the end of a cul-de-sac, while the back side borders the national road across a moat and a private road, and is located in a corner with a high density of detached houses. in order to obtain a rich exterior space, the garden and balcony were incorporated as a part of the square interior space with nine 9-foot columns to create the appearance of a machiya, a traditional japanese townhouse that regulates sight lines and light.
