Restoration, Villa CouCou

Outline
Renovation of the Villa CouCou, designed by Takamasa Yoshizaka and completed in 1957. with the cooperation of the Heritage Houses Trust, we aimed to return the building to its original state of completion as much as possible as a building to be passed on to a new resident. the exterior was limited to partial repairs, and the wooden fittings on the south side of the second floor and the concrete movable panels on the east side of the first floor were restored to as close to their original state as possible. in the garden on the front entrance side, we left as much of the existing plantings as possible, mainly weeping cherry trees as the symbol tree, and created a new evergreen hedge to create a gradual boundary with the neighboring property.
