Katsufumi Kubota/Kubota Architect Atelier
- Outline
- It stands on a hill about 30 meters above sea level with a panoramic view of the ocean to the east. a wall inserted into the site divides the long and narrow site into two halves. the frontage side of the building is half-underground, with the ground filled in against the wall. the volume of the building is hidden when viewed from the frontage, giving the impression that the roof is floating in the grandeur of nature. the roof is tapered at the top to minimize the thickness of the surface.
