Goto Akio Arts Center

Built on a corner lot facing a busy road, this art museum and residence mainly plans and exhibits the works of Akio Goto, a founding member of the avant-garde artists' group “VAVA”. the builders are goto's wife and son-in-law. about 1/5 of the floor space (approx. 12 m on the wife's side and 26 m on the flat side) is compactly used as the residence area, and the exhibition area is also an extension of the residence when the museum is not open. the art tower and the residence share a common entrance, accessed from a corridor on the flat side of the building, which is tangential to the street.
