- A house for immigrants built in the coastal area of yakushima island, which belongs to a subtropical climate. in order to foster an earthy environment, the foundation was built on a stone site. the first floor consists of an outdoor workshop under the floor and an indoor cooking area. the structure is made of tenacious local cedar timbers and a through structure to withstand the strong wind pressure of yakushima and to distribute the stress throughout the building.
