- The client requested a mansion on a site along a road a short distance from the lake on the mountain side, a boatyard that could accommodate two boats, and a large, well-planted garden for the owner's dog to run around in. because of the abundance of natural animals that would eat the plants in the garden, it was necessary to set the height of the garden and fence out of sight of the animals, and to consider the privacy of the house and the views out to the surrounding area as we thought about how to close the house to the site.
