House in Moniwa

Outline
The site is located in a village at the foot of Mount Taihaku. The house is built in the east-west direction, following the style of the neighboring farmhouses, to block the cold wind blowing from the west and to prevent snow accumulation. A series of windows under the eaves are placed at the floor level in the back of the house, and the slit-like openings with lattices under them serve as high side lights for the first floor rooms.
