- This is a house for a couple on a steep slope overlooking Osaka Bay in the northeast of Awaji Island. It is a one-story building with a long, narrow east-west profile that follows the contour line of the cliff, and the building is raised from the ground by steel pillars. The building is lifted up from the ground by steel pillars. The use of piles to raise the building not only ensures livability on the steep slope, but also contributes to the preservation of the landscape.
