House in Yoyogi-uehara

Outline
This is a house with offices for an art director and his wife in a residential area in the center of Tokyo. It is a wooden house with three floors above ground and one basement floor, and the edges of the exterior walls are cut out to create an entrance and openings. The staircase from the first basement to the third floor is a circulation line that connects the upper and lower floors while changing the scenery one after another. The aim was not only to serve as a flow line, but also to create a place of residence like the grand staircase in the plaza. Naito Construction Co.
