A House of One Story in “M”

Outline
This project is a renovation of a wooden three-storied row house in a residential area of Kyoto city, where old and new buildings are crowded together. The existing building was a one-storied building with a garden, but due to repeated additions and alterations, it became a two-storied building without a garden. residential functions were concentrated on the first floor, and the second floor, which became free from any use, was made into a terrace-like room connected to the outside. by replacing the existing flooring material with FRP panels, "lighting through the floor" was realized from the second floor windows to the lower floor.
