Camber House
Makoto Takei+Chie Nabeshima | /TNA
- Outline
- Renovation of a 50 year old Japanese house. The finishes were stripped from the existing state, and the necessary pillars were left in place to create a single room space. The ceiling surface, both long and short, is gently curved from the eaves to the bottom of the beam, creating a new relationship between the floor and the ceiling by connecting the upper and lower spaces, which have been separated by a long pushboard.
