House of looking up

Outline
The building is located in a dense residential area near the center of Naha City. The walls and roof slope down to the south, and the openings let in southern breezes, while the high sidelights in the upper center of the building let in light and release heat. The corridor leading to the garden and the teahouse's overlook also serves to block the western sun. The interior spaces are finished with as many natural materials as possible, including red pine, jugaku, gecko paper, and amishiro for the tea room, Ryukyu limestone for the living room floor, and plaster for the walls.
