MINAMI-HAYAMA duo
Yuji Nakae/NAKAE ARCHITECTS Hirofumi Ohno/Ohno Japan
- Outline
- Two weekend houses built near the top of a mountain in Minami Hayama. In addition to the surrounding greenery and houses, there are views of Sagami Bay to the west and the Izu Peninsula and Mount Fuji beyond. Fuji. In order to take in these views, 13 angled walls are arranged in a meandering manner to form two cylindrical spaces open to the east and west. The walls are closed between the two buildings and to the neighboring houses, but open to the view. The gaps between the walls are filled with glass, so that the walls become a part of the landscape depending on where people stand.
