Outline: The house is a semi-court house, which can create an open plan to the garden while maintaining privacy. This form creates an appropriate sense of distance between the rooms and harmonizes elements and concepts that tend to be in conflict, such as public and private, Japanese and Western, traditional and modern, and large and small scales.
