Piano House
Komada Takeshi+Komada Yuka/ Komada Architects Office
- Outline
- This is a narrow house with a wall that curves smoothly like a piano. The space was created by securing a parking space on the site and wanting a house that is closed to the outside. The curvature of the walls constantly changes the frontage of the rooms, naturally changing the direction of sight and the way through, and the shifting shades of light and shadow reflected on the curved walls create a differentiated and unique place to live. In spite of the small size of the house, the staircase room occupies about half of the floor plan, and connects the differentiated places of residence created here and there.
