Hankai" House

Outline
Renovation of a private house built in an old village in Higashi-Harima. In addition to its age, the house was judged to be "half destroyed" at the time of the Great Hanshin Earthquake. Therefore, we decided to cut out the severely damaged parts and add new functions to them by extending the house, in order to fundamentally change the program of the house as a whole. At the same time, the new addition, constructed using the 2x4 construction method, wraps around the existing main house like a spiral, effectively reinforcing it against earthquakes.
