House in Saginuma
Koji Hirano + Yasuko Shimizu / Space Factory
- Outline
- The house is planned as a single room space in a gradual sequence. The basic performance of the building has been improved by using external thermal insulation, paired glass, and wooden sashes, and an attempt has been made to achieve comfort with less energy. A single room space with a difference in elevation creates a flow of air from the bottom to the top, and wind flows through the diagonally placed openings. The contrast between cohesion and diffusion is inherent in the multifocal enclosure, and the result is a swelling space with an expansive scale.
