Tokyo Machiya, Town Corner House

Outline
The deck and plantings between the house and the alley in front are used as a gentle screen to adjust the distance between the rooms and the town. In addition, the floor level of the living room (and dining room) is set 300mm lower than the deck, so that even if the handrail of the deck is lowered, the line of sight of people walking along the alley is not bothered.
