House in Fujimi
Shunsuke Uemoto / Uemoto Planning and Design
- Outline
- The building stands in a place where a flat field switches to a forest, with a pitch-black exterior that blends in with the forest. In contrast to the hard exterior, the interior consists of a series of wooden portal frames that resemble trees in the forest. The plan of the building bends into a "kunoji" shape, and the terrace is placed inside the "kunoji". The floor level changes gradually along the slope, creating a gentle change in the line of sight.
